Welcome to My Blog - Cost of Doing Business

Hello everyone! My name is Adam Forbes and welcome to my blog. I wanted to start this blog because I saw a need out there. I am calling it the “Cost of Doing Business’ because I felt that was a very apt title. The vending machine business has many ups and downs. It can be cost intensive to start (but doesn’t have to be). There will be some tears. There will be some laughing. Sometimes things happen and it is all the cost of doing business. I am here to help! There are a lot of you out there who are just starting out and looking for answers. There are others who are reading this who have been doing it for awhile but might have a question about a certain topic. I want to be a resource for all levels to help you achieve your goals.

I should probably tell you a little bit about myself. I am a teacher and coach here in the Dallas, TX area. I have an amazing wife and 2 amazing kiddos! I started my vending machine business to be able to provide some additional income for my family. I do not know where this business will take me but I am excited for the journey. I have learned a lot so far and I know there is a lot more to learn. I, myself, lean on others for answers to questions I don’t know. What I have found is that when you find someone willing to help, hold on to that person. I will write more in a later post about finding a mentor and how to best utilize that relationship.

I hope this blog can serve as a go to spot for those who have questions. I plan on writing about getting started, funding your business, things to expect as a small business owner, organizational tips and many more. Things that will be featured on my blog will be based on my experience in this industry. I am not saying that my way is “THE WAY” but it is a way. I will tell you about things that have gone well and areas where I have completely failed. My plan is to start posting once a week. Obviously, plans change and that frequency could change depending on what you guys need. I will always take suggestions on what I should write about. If one person is bold enough to reach out, then there are probably many more who have the same question but might not want to ask.
